I agree with you the problem is, these other developers that are reading the Gang of Four in bed at night are so blinded by the new stuff, they over use it when a concrete implementation will do the job.

I have seen it time and time again where, people use design patterns just to use them and get no benefit besides the, I used a design pattern. Yes people may have fun with doing this but does this really make better software or does it just make a maintenance nightmare?</description>
