This list outlines good tips on improving yourself as a developer, which is more important (to me at least.) It may or may not lead to more elegant code, but will hopefully lead you to better applications - better to the users, better to maintain. I would also add "be a mentor" because the effort to clearly explain something will make you understand it deeper. I like your list, but I think it’s not exactly about writing elegant code.
