Close, my name is Friesian. Both my parents families came from the northern provinces of the Netherlands.

So I speak a little bit of dutch, but just words needed to get around a family farm (swear words mostly).

As you may know, there are a lot of Flemish dialects. I don’t know and understand all of them either. I live close to the border with the Netherlands. Your last name sounds like a typical Dutch name too.

But I don’t speak Flemish (this is an assumption, since you live on the northern/Flemish side of Belgium and not the southern/french side). Oh well, all that time spent learning Dutch will have to wait for another time.
