I choose quality. If you don’t, you shouldn’t choose me.

I really like that attitude. I'm going to put that on our portal as soon as I get back to work.

Jan,

My life changed for the better when I finally decided that I was in control of quality. In the "trade off triangle" of quality vs. time vs. resources, I am in control.

Put another way, many development managers tell product managers they can have any 2, pick them: good, cheap, or fast.

I decided long ago that if you want me to make it, I choose to fix the quality (good) part of the trade off triangle. You get to pick 1 other: Time or resources.

This decision ultimately led to me making a decision to leave an employer and pursue a professional life in which I didn't have to fight this battle every day.

Here's my declaration to any prospective employer: I choose quality. If you don't, you shouldn't choose me.
