Jason Grundy
Jason has been a professional developer for about 12 years. He is opinionated but (he likes to think) open minded.
About 5 years ago he used to write entire applications in PL/SQL (with an occasional smattering of classic ASP). Then in Java training from Oracle he was introduced to the concepts of MVC and O/R Mapping. This shook up his whole world (”why would you want to write SQL that was not perfect”) but didn’t have a significant impact on his day to day practices. But the seeds were sowed.
A few years later he worked on a Java project that used Hibernate, Spring and Cruise Control. At the time he didn’t even know what unit testing was. This project changed his life. When he returned to developing applications on the Microsoft stack in 2005 he brought these techniques with him.
Fast forward to today and Jason has been responsible for introducing agile processes and practices into several organizations. He has been impressed with the results, both on the projects that have been completed under the agile banner and more importantly of the individuals who have worked on them. He has therefore because something of an agile evangelist.
He attended the first ALT.NET conference in Austin, TX. There are some amazing people out there who are doing some incredible things to push the limits of what is possible. But let’s not forget that there are also some very talented people in the Boise area (substitute in your own locality if you are reading this). We can become far better as a group than a collection of individuals. Elegance Awaits.
