Stephen Hunter is
one of my all time favorite authors. He does a good job of telling a story and making
us root for his characters. He is also a film critic for the Baltimore
Sun.
Of all the characters in all the trashy war novels in the world, my
favorite is Bob the Nailer, a Marine Corps sniper who returns in Time
to Hunt for final go ’round.
This time we are taken back to Bob’s 3rd tour in Vietnam where he holds
off an entire battalion with the help of his spotter, Donny Fenn.
The book spends half of it’s time in 1971 and the other half in present
day, wrapping up a series of events that began in the Vietnam era.
This is pure and simple pulp fiction and there is nothing better.
