Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephensen

Have you ever read a book that you at once loved and could not wait for it to be over?
I have finally finished such a book, Cryptonomicon by
Neal Stephensen.

Interweaving 50 years of storyline from the 1940s to present day, this book threads
the family trees of soldiers, mathematicians and spies into something a story that
I am sure has far more depth than I can get out of it.  This book lets me know
that geeks have been around for years, and that we have always been rather proud of
ourselves.

My favorite part of this saga is one mathematician’s ability to reduce his sexual
drive and proclivities into a formula that will probably work to describe most males
of the species.  Cool.
