I Like Kool Aid

I have a good friend who describes mainstream media as Koolaid. The goal of all media
executives to be getting us lemmings to drink the Koolaid, ala Jim Jones and his Guiana
punch. I fundamentally and vocally agree with my friend. T.V. in particular is essentially
evil.

I just ordered cable.

I am so ashamed. The really bad part is that what I want to watch is more shameful
than the fact that I ordered cable in the first place. I ordered cable just so that
I can watch Ultimate Fighting on
Spike TV. That is what finally put the Koolaid cup to my lips. I went over to a friend’s house
for fight night and watched 2 hours of fights in about an hour thanks to the marvelous
invention of Tivo. SOLD. Tivo is
amazing. I may cancel Netflix.

I have never had cable before, preferring to instead wear my lack of cable as a badge
of Koolaid defiance. The cable guy comes Wednesday. He had better remember to bring
that Tivo unit.
