Typical Nerd Projects

In the spirit of guys like
this
I have figured out how to keep my children fit in the TV generation.

I wire up a little bicycle generator to the tire of an exercise bike in our living
room.  I run a wire that carried the voltage from this wire to a relay that will
pass 120V through itself from the wall to the T.V.  Viola!  You must ride
the bike to get the T.V. to work.  The best part is that if you don’t keep up
a certain pace, the T.V. will turn off.

I realised last night that I had passed these genes on to my 8 year old son, who infomred
me that he had decided to try and make a pair of motorized ice skates.
