A Disturbance in the Force

I have felt it.  The disturbance in the force that I am talking
about is Podscope.  It seems simple enough, a search engine for RSS 2.0 feeds
with encapsulations.

What is this really?  It is a search engine for audio and video
that can be delivered via HTTP.  Not streamed, but downloadable MPEGS or MP3s.
Use Podscope to search on “Video” and see what you get.  Coupled
with an RSS aggregater it is like subscribing to a TV series or a nightly radio program.

This could really change things, folks.  The idea of audio and
video which is free and content specific means that independent producers of not only
HTML, but of sight and sound can actually have a voice.  Podscope gives them
a means of discovery and RSS gives them a means of distribution.  With the activity
in media players such as the iRiver H series, the devices to render these programs
is getting even easier.

Got something to say?  Now you don’t need HTML, and who knows,
you just might become famous.

The producers of MSDN’s The .Net Show are considering podcasting the show.  Leave
them feedback on the idea here.
