Toshiba Tecra

I recently traded my Dell
Latitude D810
for a Toshiba
Tecra M4
tablet PC. I have never used a tablet PC, but after watching someone
proficiently take notes with ink in a meeting, I couldn’t resist trying a tablet.

I
have been using the tablet exclusively for about 3 days. So far I am quite impressed.
One of my primary objections thus far has been eliminated by the Toshiba, a large
screen resolution. I am running 1400X1050 on the tablet and the video response is
not bad at all. I was running 1600X1900 on my Dell, but I was willing to give up a
little resolution for the tablet functionality.

As a laptop replacement (read: desktop replacement), I am completely satisfied. The
performance of the 2G Centrino + a healthy dose of 2G of RAM makes it a viable machine
for anyone. Yes, I have written code on this thing, but I have not done major DB activities
yet.

Sadly, I have had the chance to take ink notes in a meeting already. I did it for
the first time today and quit frankly, it is awesome. The character recognition capabilities
in the software have come a long way. I did not need to
train this guy at all and it read my chicken scratch right out of the box. Very impressive.

I am committed to becoming a power user of this device with One Note and Mind Manager.
I can see the possibilities and they are significant.
