BlogJet 1.5

I have bit the bullet and am using BlogJet for my posts lately.  For those who
are wondering, BlogJet is a windows application that allows me to write my blog posts
on my own computer and save them as drafts, then submit them later to my blog.

After working this way for about a week and not using my web page for posting to ElegantCode,
I can safely say that I am hooked.  Working on my own desktop is really nice,
but I do think that the app has left a bit to be desired.  I assume that the
app will be improving over time, but I am a bit surprised that it isn’t better
than this already.

I know for a fact that I could write a better application than this, but let’s
face it: who wants to? So, to the authors of BlogJet, I submit the following requests.

  1. Need a better editor.  Just go get a fully functional control and drop it in
    for the post editor.
    • DO NOT make me use CTRL+M instead of TAB.  That’s ridiculous.
  2. The smiley faces are nice  but
    let me add my own.
  3. Give me a tabbed view of multiple posts.
  4. Provide a default “drafts” directory.  That is only professional.
  5. Provide a “recent drafts” list.
  6. Attachment support for RSS .0 and podcasting.
  7. >

All in all, this is a nice productivity application, but after several years in the
marketplace it should have evolved to a more mature application by now.  I might
be looking for a better alternative, but I am not sure what options are out there
    to work with DasBlog.
