The Word by Irving Wallace

The editorial release for The
Word
as per Amazon reads, “The classic thriller of an ancient manuscript,
a secret society committed to hiding an explosive truth, and the man who must uncover
that truth–if he can stay alive long enough.”

All I can say is that as far as I was concerned, this hero could have
died early. This “hero” had to be the leaset likable main character I
have read about since A
Confederacy of Dunces
, and that guy was suppossed to be stupid.

The scriptural references were amatuerish at best and the plot had enough
holes to fill a bucket. Oh, well. Back to sniper stories and Tom Clancy assasignations.
