Shure E2C Motorcycle Nirvana

Category:UncategorizedTag: :

I just received my new pair of Shure
E2C
headphones from Amazon.

I have been searching for 3 years for a way to enjoy music AND to reduce wind noise
in my helmet above 50MPH.  I have found the answer. Have you ever run at
80mph with no earplugs in a windstorm with regular ear buds in your ears?  Well,
I have.  Typical wind noise inside a motorcycle helmet runs about 90db.
Add another 25 db for the music coming out of regular ear buds and the next thing
you know, you are deaf.

I had given up on music in trade for foam earplugs to enjoy the silence.  What
the E2C earbuds give me is a musical earplug.  The Shures give about 25db of
noise attenuation and the fact that the speakers output directly into your ear canal
means that you need to run your iPod or Walkman at a much lower level.  So, my
hearing saved and I get to listen to Merle Haggard on my next trip to Montana.

The wires on the E2Cs are really thick and having heavy duty wires is nice given that
they will be flopping around in the wind outside of your helmet.

If you are in need of an audio solution to your motorcycling travels, go for a set
of these.  At about $80 from ebay, they are less than half the price of custom
molded earphones and just as comfortable.
