Re-Installing Windows on My Laptop

I am going to re-install windows on my machine and I would like to record a list
of everything that I need to re-install.  I thought I might as well publish that
list since so many people have published their Top 10 software lists.  The only
difference here is that mine is real  and
this is what I am actually planning to do.

Copy, save and re-install the following directories

1. C:\Documents and Settings\[me]\My Documents
2. C:\Documents and Settings\[me]\Desktop
3. c:\projects
4. c:\www

Install the following applications (no particular order preference)

14. SpyBot – Search & Destroy

16. Star Downloader
17. GMail Notifier
18. Doppler Podcatcher
19. NewsGator – make sure to save old OPML and PST files
20. Registry Mechanic
21. Media Player 10
22. Creative utils for the new Zen Micro
23. RapTier (legacy, don’t ask)
24. Paint.Net
25. Araxis Merge
26. Perfect Disc
27. TextPad
28. WinRar
29. Tortoise SVN
30. Rapid SVN
31. ISO Buster
32. Sizer
33. NUnit
34. Easy Cleaner
35. SQL Server

Then I have to

• Reset Windows Explorer preferences
• Configure Desktop preferences
• Create VPN connections
• Set up quick start menu

This sucks.
