Last week or so, I posted that I had purchased a
new Creative Zen MicroPhoto. I love(d) this player. I had purchased it from Best
Buy on sale for 25% off the MSRP of $250. What I did not know at the time is that
this player is new to the market and very much in demand.
Long story short, I dropped it on day three. No I didn’t return it, I literally
dropped it. Then I returned it. When they asked me what was wrong with it
I said, “I don’t know anything about computers, it just quit working.” I tried to
exchange it, but they were out of players after the 2 day Creative sale. Instead of
taking a rain check, I took a refund, thinking that I would be able to get another
one online somewhere for the original $190 or so. No dice.
I looked everywhere. These things are simply out of stock everywhere I looked, so
I went to eBay. Now my trouble was that I couldn’t
stomach spending more than I originally paid for the device, and I wanted a long term
replacement plan from a trusted retailer. Long story short, I bought an iRiver
H10 20G player. It is on its’ way from Amazon right
now (with the 3 year no questions asked replacement policy).
Both players have the same MSRP price. but the iRiver holds 20G and the Zen holds
8G. We’ll see if I like the iRiver as much as the Creative.
