IIS 7 Hopes and Dreams

is what you get after installing Vista’s IIS and typing http://localhost.?

just made me grin.?A Microsoft product with simple packaging?? Awesome.

I am not sure what all is in there yet, but?the overall package?looks promising.?
I like the Connection Strings settings, for example.? That makes great sense
in a high reliability environment.? Also, moving things like state management
into the IIS console and out of the realm of config files is a good move.

Application administrators are much?less likely to miss a config setting mistake
in a command view snap-in than in one of many web.config files.? I can speak
from experience that configuration management in a Software as a Service model produces
far more defects than actual software bugs.? Maybe IIS 7 can help reduce that
trend.
