After my last post, I just couldn’t take it. I had a hard time shelling out $60 for a voice recorder that doesn’t do much more than record and play voice. After all, shouldn’t our devices do everything including make breakfast these days?
I went back to CompUSA and exchanged the Sony voice recorder for an MP3 player that has the same capability. I chose the SanDisk c250 because CompUSA wouldn’t accept the recorder as a return (I didn’t keep the package) and the SanDisk was in stock. It has the voice recorder feature built in and the unit is approximately the same size.
So, how do I like the SanDisk that I only kinda wanted? Pretty well, actually. The menu system is so simple to use reviewers have accused it of being boring. I still use iTunes to manage my music, but now all I have to do is drag and drop the files to put them on the player. The SanDisk just shows up in File Manager as a separate disc drive. Easy as pie.
Since I only listen to podcasts, the 2G flash drive size restriction doesn’t bother me. If I want music, I’ll borow my wife’s 30G iPod.
You have an iPod, right?? So why not just use your iPod to record voice memos…..
