I recently blogged about ordering a new helmet.
It arrived the other day and I can tell you that this is the best lid I have ever
put on my head. The Caberg
Justisimo is da bomb!
I had tried on the Schuberth Concept helmet and I find them to quite similar, with
the Caberg coming in a good $150 cheaper. My old lid, the HJC Symax, fails to
hang with either of these two.
Justisimo Pros
- Modular helmet. Flip up chin bar.
- The latch is metal, not plastic like the HJC
-
The chin has a metal bar running through it, unlike the mere plastic shell of the
HJC -
The latching mechanism is smooth and solid, with several positions for holding the
chin partly open. -
The flip down sun shade! This is awesome. I will never have another helmet
without this feature. - The chip strap is good quality, not just a webbing with a D-Ring, like the HJC
- The finish of the paint is superb. Metal flake black.
- The optional chin apron to protect my chilly beard
- Noise level is very acceptable
Justisimo Cons
- A bit heavy, but then I am no pencil necked geek. I am a hot dog necked geek.
-
The fit for my head type is perfect, but my head size is 61cm. That falls between
Large and Extra Large sizes. I opted for the XL and the helmet could be a bit
more snug. - The chin strap link is hard to master with my gloves on.
-
The chin latch button is in a place that is a bit awkward. I could open the
HJC with my thumb, but in theory the helmet could be opened in a slide and I could
chum my pretty face.
I feel very lucky that I got the fit right the first time on a mail order helmet that
I had never tried on.
