This is a total layman?s review of these phones. If you want tech specs and the complete rundown to the pixel level, go to CNET.
Through a twist of fate, I came to have 2 brand spanking new Windows 8 phones at the same time. With 1 SIM, I could just flip back and forth as I wished. I got to use both the Nokia and HTC in daily use on AT&T and both phones are wonderful. I have had iPhones and Androids and I know this is going to sound like BS, but I prefer Windows Phones now. They are just? cleaner. Meaning there is less clutter and futzing with settings, etc.
To make a long story short, I am sticking with the Nokia 920. Here is the comparison matrix that shows features that mattered to me. There are tons more features to consider, but being the old man that I am these are the only ones I really care about.
Nokia 920 |
HTC 8X |
|
Pro |
Slightly larger screen Nokia Drive turn-by-turn application is free Wireless charging (awesome) |
Thinner Lighter |
Con |
Heavier Thicker |
Must buy AT&T Navigator to get turn-by-turn at $9.99/month |
As you can see, the list is rather short. Truth is, both phones are excellent and I wouldn?t be disappointed to use the HTC. It?s really just preference and that?s a pretty nice situation.
Anyone want a brand new HTC 8X? What am I bid ?
