Windows Live SkyDrive

I have been looking for a solution to file sharing with my wife for several weeks. Particularly I wanted her to be able to review and comment on some Word files. Also, I wanted to make some PDF file available for public access.

I tried several services including Google Docs (I didn’t want to lose all of my formatting), Box.net (promising, but short a few features, AJAXY!), andone other whose name I forget. None of these products were terrible, but none of them quite fit the simplicity bill, either.

Enter Windows Live SkyDrive. This service is drop dead simple and just what I was looking for, frankly. The icon below is a link to a Word 2007 file I created and dropped up there in my public box.

Is it just me or is the tit-for-tat game between Windows Live initiatives and Google evening out lately?
